ABOUT YOGA + MOBILITY TRAINING

In yoga we move through a series of postures, each with specific purpose and benefits. The practice is guided by the breath and each posture is held for a certain period of time to maximise the benefit that you gain from practising it.

As a certified Mobility Specialist in the Functional Range Conditioning® system I also incorporate mobility training techniques in my approach to teaching yoga.

Mobility training is a systematic approach to improving joint function and health and addressing specific movement limitations. Incorporating elements of strength training, it improves body control, strength and functional movement efficiency.

Whilst it can be of benefit to anyone, it is particularly useful for dynamic sports such as squash that place several competing and challenging demands on the body.

When we practice yoga and mobility training we move better, perform better and feel better.

Benefits of yoga and mobility training include:

  • Joint health, function and stability

  • Increased flexibility and functional range of motion

  • Better movement efficiency

  • Improved balance and proprioception

  • Improved core strength

  • Increased muscular endurance

  • Stronger and more resilient tissues

  • Injury mitigation
